Terms of Service

These terms apply to every business and user that accesses StaffBud. By creating an account or connecting a Facebook Page, you agree to them.

Service description

StaffBud is a software service that lets a business connect a Facebook Page, upload its own business information, and have an AI assistant answer Messenger conversations on that Page. Staff can take over any conversation and reply manually. Features are provided as they exist at the time of use and may change as the product develops.

Account responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate account details and keep your credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity in your workspace, including actions by users you invite.
  • You must have the authority to connect the Facebook Page you connect, and you must comply with Meta's platform terms and policies.
  • Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service to send unsolicited messages, spam, or messages that violate the Messenger Platform policies.
  • Do not use it for unlawful, deceptive, harassing or harmful content, or to impersonate another business or person.
  • Do not attempt to access another organization's data, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass usage limits.
  • Do not upload content you have no right to use, malware, or sensitive personal data the assistant does not need.

AI limitations

Replies are generated automatically by a large language model. They can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, and they are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice. You are responsible for reviewing your assistant's configuration and monitoring its conversations, and for taking over manually where accuracy matters. We do not guarantee that any specific answer will be produced, or that the assistant will reply to every message.

Your information and your customers

You decide what business information to upload and approve, and the assistant answers based on it. You are responsible for the accuracy, legality and completeness of that information, including prices, availability, policies and any claims it contains. You are also responsible for informing your own customers, where required, that their Messenger conversations are handled with automated assistance and processed by the providers listed in our privacy policy.

Billing framework

The service is offered on a subscription and AI credit basis. AI usage consumes credits at the rates shown in your workspace. Where a paid plan applies, fees are charged for the period selected, and unused credits or unused portions of a period are not automatically refundable except where required by law. Payment processing is not yet enabled in the product; until it is, no payment method is collected and no charge is made. We will publish plan and pricing details before billing is activated.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, if usage threatens the security or stability of the service, if required by Meta or another provider, or if fees remain unpaid once billing is active. Where practical we will give notice first.

Intellectual property

We own the platform, its software and its design. You keep ownership of the business information you upload and of your conversation data, and you grant us the licence needed to host and process it in order to provide the service. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product.

Third-party services

The service depends on third parties including Meta, OpenAI, our database and storage provider, our hosting provider, and — once billing is enabled — PayPal. Their availability, policies, permissions and rate limits are outside our control, and changes they make may affect features such as Messenger delivery. Your use of a connected Facebook Page also remains subject to Meta's own terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, and we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or any particular business result.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. Updates are reflected in the "last updated" date above, and continued use after an update means the updated terms apply.
